You don’t have to be a Maths pro in order to study business administration or economics. Mathematical models however are applied in many areas, such as statistics, decision theory or economic theory.

Prospective business students therefore should bring along interest and a certain basic understanding for mathematical problems, and preferably be able to
  • work self-consistently, that is to say, be able to structure given complex tasks in a way that a solution statement and a mathematical model is found
  • solve equations with variables in every form
  • differentiate functions
  • solve basic optimization problems
